Halloween Cotton Napkins

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 1yd Each of Three Printed Cottons
  • Templates
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Machine
  • Iron

DIRECTIONS:

NOTE: All seams are sewn with a French Seam.

FOR STYLE A:
  1. Cut (1) 13"x 21" rectangle from fabric B, (1) 6 1/2"x 21" rectangle from fabric A, (1) 3 1/2"x 21" rectangle from fabric C. See Template.
  2. With wrong sides together, sew rectangle B to rectangle A using a 1/8" seam allowance. Press and fold with right sides together. Stitch 1/4" seam allowance, enclosing raw edges of 1/8" seam allowance within, creating a French Seam. Sew rectangle C to rectangle A in same manner.
  3. Trim and square napkin to 20 1/2"x 20 1/2". Fold and press under 1/4", then 1/4" again around edge of napkin. Top stitch in place.

FOR STYLE B:
  1. Cut (4) 12" right triangles from fabric A and (4) 12" right triangles from fabric C. See Template.
  2. Sew triangles A to triangles C with a French Seam to create 4 blocks. Sew 4 blocks together with French seams.
  3. Trim and square napkin to 20 1/2"x 20 1/2". Fold and press under 1/4", then 1/4" again around edge of napkin. Top stitch in place.

FOR STYLE C:
  1. Cut (1) 21"x 21" square from fabric A, and (4) 7" right triangles from fabric B. Sew triangles B to fabric A at corners, overhanging 3/8". See Template. Trim excess fabric A before finishing French Seams.
  2. Trim and square napkin to 20 1/2"x 20 1/2". Fold and press under 1/4", then 1/4" again around edge of napkin. Top stitch in place.

FOR STYLE D:
  1. Cut (2) 6"x 21" rectangles from fabric B, and (1) 11"x 21" rectangle from fabric C. See Template.
  2. Sew rectangles B to left and right edge of rectangle C using French Seams.
  3. Trim and square napkin to 20 1/2"x 20 1/2". Fold and press under 1/4", then 1/4" again around edge of napkin. Top stitch in place.

FOR STYLE E:
  1. Cut (2) 6"x 21" rectangles from fabric A, and (1) 11"x 21" rectangle from fabric C. See Template.
  2. Sew rectangles A to left and right edge of rectangle C using French Seams.
  3. Trim and square napkin to 20 1/2"x 20 1/2". Fold and press under 1/4", then 1/4" again around edge of napkin. Top stitch in place.

FOR STYLE F:
  1. Cut (1) 22" right triangle from fabric C, (1) 15" right triangle from fabric A, and (1) 15" right triangle from fabric B. See Template A.
  2. Sew triangle A to triangle B using French Seams. Sew triangle C to long edge of triangle A and B block using French Seams.
  3. Trim and square napkin to 20 1/2x 20 1/2". Fold and press under 1/4", then 1/4" again around edge of napkin. Top stitch in place.
