From the red print cut nine 2 1/2"x WOF strips. Sub cut twenty-six 10 1/2"x 2 1/2" pieces and thirteen 4 1/2"x 2 1/2" pieces.
From the white on white print (background) cut six 4 1/2"x WOF strips. Sub cut twelve 6 1/2"x 4 1/2" pieces and twenty-six 4 1/2"x 4 1/2" pieces.
Also from the white cut eighteen 2 1/2"x WOF strips. Sub cut thirty 10 1/2"x 2 1/2" strips and thirty 8 1/2"x 2 1/2" strips and forty-eight 2 1/2"x 2 1/2" squares. The remaining piece of white is for the binding.

From the four 1/8 yd prints cut a strip 2 1/2"x WOF from each and cut nine 2 1/2"x 2 1/2" squares out of each print.

Since this quilt is recommended for advanced quilters, the assembly of the pieces to form the quilt top and finish the quilt has brief directions. Refer to the graphed design to assemble.
Tip - press after each seam, pressing away from the white fabric when possible.

To form the H sew a 4 1/2" white square to each long side of the 2 1/2"x 4 1/2" red strip, press. Sew the 2 1/2"x 10 1/2" red strips to each side of the sewn piece, press. Make thirteen.

To form the O, sew a 2 1/2"x 4 1/2" green strip to the short ends of the 4 1/2"x 6 1/2" white piece, press. Sew a 2 1/2" white square diagonally at each end of the 2 1/2"x 10 1/2" green strip. Trim the excess fabric from the ends, press. Make twelve.

Assemble the letter blocks (13 of H and 12 of O) then add the 8 1/2"x 2 1/2" white sashing strips to the top of each block, press. There will be some sashing pieces leftover for the last row at the bottom.

Sew the assorted print squares to one end of each of the 10 1/2"x 2 1/2" white sashing pieces, press. Sew the sewn strips to one side of each of the letter blocks, press. There will be some sewn strips leftover that will be added when the blocks are sewn in rows.

Sew the letter blocks together in five horizontal rows, press. Sew the remaining 10 1/2" plus square strips to the end blocks that do not have sashing, press.

Sew the rows together, press. Add the remaining 8 1/2"x 2 1/2" pieces and 2 1/2" squares across the bottom to complete the quilt top. Press and trim any uneven edges.

Cut the white backing fabric in half, making two pieces approximately 42"x 54". Sew the two pieces together along one 54" side. Press the seam open.

Sandwich the backing batting and quilt top and pin the layers together with the quilter’s safety pins. Quilt as desired using the invisible thread on top.

Trim the backing and batting.
Prepare the binding and sew to the quilt edge.
