  • 2 skeins of Buttercream Cozy yarn
  • Poly-Fil basic pillow insert in size 12"x 16"

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cast on 30 stitches
  2. DO NOT join in the round.
  3. Continue in stockinette stitch until your piece measures about 12.5 inches, which should be around 38 rows
  4. (Stockinette Stitch is knit 1 row, purl 1 row)
  5. Bind off.
  6. You have just completed 1 side of the pillow.
  7. Now you will repeat this same process to make the second side:
  8. Cast on 30 stitches
  9. DO NOT join in the round.
  10. Continue in stockinette stitch until your piece measures about 12.5 inches, this should be around 38 rows
  11. Bind off, but this time leave a long tail on your work to seam your pillow together. About 36 inches of tail.
  12. You have completed the second side of your pillow.
  13. Now take both pieces you have completed and sandwich the pillow in the center. Make sure the correct side of your work is facing out.
  14. (The front of Stockinette stitch will look like little Vs)
  15. Seam about the outer portion of the pillow.
  16. Tuck in ends. You can do this by using the pointy end of your needle and poking the loose end into the inside.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Try using circular needles for projects that use bulky yarn or cast on a lot of stitches.
  • You can easily identify if you are on the purl side or knit side of your piece by looking at the completed stitches. If the stitches look like little Vs you are on a knit side. If the stitches look like horizontal bumps your are on a purl side.
