SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 3 skeins Bernat® Alize Blanket-EZ™, cream

DIRECTIONS:

Note: Right side of project is facing at all times. Working yarn is held behind stitches throughout work. Loops from working yarn are always pulled through stitches from back to front of work. Project is worked back and forth, no turning. When one skein is finished, just continue with next skein leaving a tail in back of skirt to be tied at end of work.

Count 22 loops for foundation row.
1st row: Starting with the 23rd loop, pull through the 22nd loop. Pull 2 loops from working yarn through next loop. Continue to end of row alternating 1 loop in next loop and 2 loops in next.
2nd row through 4th row: Repeat 1st row.
Row 5 - Row 10. Work 1 loop from working yarn into each loop of tree skirt.
Row 11 - Pull 2 loops through 1st loop, 1 loop through each of next 2 loops. Continue to end of row.
Row 12 and 13 - Work 1 loop from working yarn into each loop.
Next 3 rows will be the fringe rows.
Row 1 - Work 1 loop through the 1st loop, skip 1 loop on working yarn, work next loop through next loop on skirt. (Hold the skipped looped between the 2 worked loops) Continue to end of row with working 1 loop and skipping 1 loop on working yarn.
Row 2 - Work 2 loops through 1st loop, skip 1 loop from working yarn, work 1 loop through next loop, skip 1 loop from working yarn. Repeat from beginning to end of row.
Note: Last row will be worked by pulling a loop from the working yarn through one of the 2 loops leaving the 2nd loop free for fringe. And work 1 loop through all the single loops worked in previous row. More fringe is made by skipping a loop from the working yarn between all of the worked loops.
Row 3 - Pull 1 loop from working yarn through the 1st of two loops, skip one loop from working yarn, skip 2nd loop on skirt. Skip one loop from working yarn and pull next loop through next loop on skirt. Repeat to end of row by working a loop through one of the double loops made, skip a loop from the working yarn between each worked loop.
Bind off the remaining loops to finish skirt. Leave 2 to 3 loops from working yarn for tail and cut.
Weave these loops through fringe. For binding off (work with the loops that have been worked, leaving the fringe loops free), take 2nd loop through 1st loop. 3rd loop through 2nd loop. Continue to end of row. Cut the last loop and tie. Weave in ends.
Check back of skirt and pull any loops to front that may have worked their way to the back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very confusing I don't have the slightest idea about how to make the loops or where the come from. Do you need a crochet hook? More explanation is needed.
