Starting at top of head, with A, ch 2. Row 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook; turn -1 sc.Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in st, turn - 2 sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, 2 sc in next st; turn -3 sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each of last2 sts; turn - 4 sc.
Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each of first 3 sts, 2 sc in last st; turn - 5 sc.
Row 6: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each of last4 sts; turn - 6 sc.
Rows 7-9: Ch 1, sc in each st across; turn.

FINISHING
With yarn needle and B and using photograph as a guide for placement, embroider 2 French knots for eyes; embroider satin stitches over 2 rows for an oval-shaped mouth. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
